1. Overview

Scryptian (the "Service") is a desktop application that runs on-demand actions such as transcription, text-to-speech, and translation on a pay-per-result basis. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Scryptian is designed to work without a personal account. You do not need to provide your name, email address, or phone number to use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information needed to operate the Service:

• Anonymous usage analytics. We collect anonymous statistics about how the Service is used (for example, which actions are run and error reports) to fix bugs and improve the app. This data is tied to a random, anonymous identifier and does not include your name, email, or other personal information.
• Device information. We collect basic technical details such as your operating system version, app version, and an anonymized fingerprint of your machine name.
• Wallet data. To track your prepaid balance of credits ("Slippers"), we store your anonymous identifier, your balance, and a record of credit and spending transactions.
• Feedback and support. If you submit a feature request or report a problem, we collect the message you send and any contact details you choose to provide (such as your email or phone number) so we can respond. This is the only case where you may share personal information with us.

3. Files and Content You Process

When you run an action, the file or text you select is sent to the third-party service that powers that action (for example, an AI transcription, translation, or text-to-speech provider) so it can produce the result. This content is used only to deliver the result you requested, and we do not store the content of your files on our servers.

4. Payments

All payments are processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle.com. When you make a purchase, Paddle collects and processes your payment details (such as your name, email, and payment method). We do not receive or store your card or payment details. We receive only a confirmation of the transaction (such as the amount and a transaction identifier) so that we can credit Slippers to your balance.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Service:

• Paddle.com — payment processing (Merchant of Record).
• PostHog — anonymous product analytics.
• Supabase — secure storage of wallet and transaction data.
• OpenRouter and other AI providers — processing of the actions you run (transcription, translation, text-to-speech, and similar).

Each third party processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy. Content sent to AI providers is processed to complete your requested action and is governed by those providers' terms.

6. Cookies and Local Data

The Service stores a small amount of data locally on your device, including an anonymous identifier and local application files. We do not use tracking cookies to identify you across other websites.

7. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide and operate the Service (run actions, track balances).
• Process purchases and credit Slippers to your balance.
• Fix bugs and improve the application.

8. Data Retention

Anonymous analytics data is retained as long as needed for the purposes above. Wallet and transaction records are retained while needed to operate your balance and comply with legal or accounting obligations.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because the Service uses an anonymous identifier rather than an account, you can exercise many of these rights by simply deleting the application and its local data from your device. 10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
